ColiIndex-97 MPN Plate

The ColiIndex-97 MPN Plate is a sterile 97-well quantitative plate designed for use with Coliplate® reagents to deliver accurate and reliable microbial water testing. With a capacity to analyze a full 100 mL water sample without dilution, each plate can detect up to 2,419.6 MPN of target bacteria, ensuring sensitive detection across a broad concentration range.

Product Overview

Engineered for precision and ease of use, the ColiIndex-97 enables laboratories to perform quantitative microbial testing through the Most Probable Number (MPN) method. By mixing reagents with the sample, loading the plate, and sealing it with a programmable quantitative sealer, laboratories can quickly generate reproducible results that meet regulatory and research needs. After incubation, simply record the number of positive large and small wells and use the provided MPN table to determine the bacterial concentration.

Quality & Sterility

Every batch of ColiIndex-97 plates is sterilized using ethylene oxide gas. Sterility reports are available for download from the official Quetest website, ensuring full traceability and compliance with laboratory quality standards.

Material Composition

• Blister cover: Polyethylene

• Back sealing film: Multi-layer composite aluminum foil with adhesive

• Manufactured with a non-fluorescent process, guaranteeing no fluorescence under 366 nm UV light to prevent interference with fluorescence-based assays.

Operating Instructions

1. Hold the 97-well plate upright with openings facing up and the well surface toward your palm.

2. Gently bend the plate and peel back the foil backing without inserting fingers inside to avoid contamination.

3. Pour 100 mL of the test sample into the plate, avoiding contact between the bottle mouth and the plate. Tap lightly to release bubbles.

4. Place the plate face-down in the rubber tray and insert it into the programmable sealer. Retrieve the sealed plate from the back end.

5. Incubate according to Coliplate reagent guidelines, then record positive wells and consult the MPN table for results.

Notes & Precautions

• Avoid applying excessive force to the foil backing to prevent seal damage.

• Replace plates immediately if damage is observed.

• Used plates must be disposed of in biohazard waste bags and sterilized at 121 °C under high-pressure steam.

• A few unfilled wells do not affect results; only filled wells should be considered in the calculation.

• Always incubate with wells facing upward; avoid excessive stacking to maintain airflow.
